ICN Research Chair for Artificial Intelligence

Advancing AI literacy, responsible innovation, and human-centered transformation through a transdisciplinary approach rooted in Art, Technology, and Management.

Vision and Purpose

The ICN Research Chair for Artificial Intelligence envisions a future where AI empowers individuals and organizations, fosters sustainable development, and drives innovation across society and industry.

Our vision

The Chair aims to advance the understanding, application, and impact of artificial intelligence on industries and society. We integrate arts, technology, and management (ATM) to explore how AI can enrich human creativity, transform organizations, and support responsible decision-making.

Our vision is to empower individuals and organizations with AI literacy, promote sustainable development, and drive business innovation and societal impact through research, collaboration, and knowledge transfer.

Three Research Axes

The Chair is structured around three thematic axes that combine the ATM dimensions and translate AI research into education, responsible business innovation, and creative transformation.

TECHNOLOGY x MANAGEMENT

AI Literacy and Education

Lead: Dr. Sarah Hönigsberg

“This shift calls us to reflect on the unique value humans bring to AI-augmented environments — and to reimagine how we educate and empower individuals to thrive as human-AI collaborators.”

This axis advances AI literacy and integrates AI concepts into educational programs to equip students and professionals with the skills needed in an AI-driven world.

TECHNOLOGY x MANAGEMENT

Ethical and AI-Driven Business Innovation

Lead: Dr. Sabrine Mallek

“AI is transforming the way we work, make decisions, and deliver value. But its true potential can only be unlocked through a responsible and ethical approach.”

This axis explores how organizations can strategically leverage AI to drive innovation while ensuring fairness, transparency, accountability, and sustainable impact.

ART x TECHNOLOGY

Virtual Creativity and AI-Driven Innovation

Lead: Dr. Morteza Alaeddini

“Our goal is to contribute to a future in which AI technology enhances human capabilities and aligns with our values of sustainability, resilience, and human centricity.”

This axis investigates how AI can enhance creative processes in virtual environments and drive innovation across arts, design, management, and immersive contexts.

Scientific Committee

The Chair is led by three thematic co-directors and supported by an international scientific committee bringing together senior expertise in AI, information systems, digital transformation, management, and human-centered innovation.
