Support and inclusion

At ICN Business School, every student receives personalised support throughout their studies, in an inclusive and supportive environment. From initial guidance to academic and personal support, we do everything we can to foster each student’s success, personal development and career progression.

Support from the PEP’S service

At ICN Business School, support and inclusion are issues we take very seriously, as they reflect our values of commitment, openness and team spirit. Our main objective is to create a personalised student experience tailored to everyone’s needs. As such, our students can rely on an efficient support service called PEP’S.

Personal development has long been a key strategic focus of our school. With a view to continuous improvement and to support this focus, we have launched the PEP’S service, which stands for Professional Experience and Personal Support. Its aim is to bring together all activities related to students’ personal development (seminars, school projects, personal and career guidance, etc.).

We know that the period between choosing a school and starting there can be particularly stressful. Even once you’ve been admitted, that doesn’t mean everything is sorted! It’s perfectly normal to still be asking yourself questions such as:

“Will I fit in? Is this the right school? The right course? What do I want to do next? What are the career prospects?”

It is not always easy to see things clearly when faced with these new challenges. To support students throughout their time at ICN, the PEP’S service offers opportunities for one-to-one discussions, decision-making tools (tests, interest questionnaires, etc.), as well as advice on how to make the most of student life.

Our students can also rely on our permanent lecturers. They act as key points of contact and advisors, both academically and professionally. As a result, support is ongoing and personalised from the moment students join ICN.

Our inclusion policy

Our school is firmly committed to the inclusion and support of students with disabilities and is fully accessible. Both in terms of our organisational structure and the accessibility of our three campuses, we demonstrate a strong commitment to an inclusive policy. Thanks to a comprehensive support system, we will be welcoming 50 students with disabilities in 2024.

With the support of Madeleine OSTROWSKI, these students receive personalised support throughout their studies and benefits such as: adjustments to admission procedures and exams, and support for their day-to-day life at school. Having received regular training from AGEFIPH and drawing on the CGE guide, our disability liaison officer is able to assist you. Finally, a specific guide for students with disabilities is available in French, English and FALC (easy to read and understand).

Since 2022, for the post-preparatory course entrance exams, bonus points have been awarded for the admission tests, taking into account the degree of disability as determined by the MDPH.

In the run-up to the exams, the PEP’S service contacts students with disabilities to find out what their needs are. This process helps to ensure equal opportunities during the exams.

Diversity and inclusion in the broadest sense

ICN Business School strongly affirms its commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. These values lie at the heart of its mission, its educational programme and its social responsibility.

The school actively incorporates them into all its activities: teaching, research and human resources management. In this way, it takes concrete steps to create a respectful, inclusive and safe environment.

ICN draws on rigorous standards to structure its approach. It is a signatory to the Diversity Charter, the Autre Cercle LGBT+ Charter, the United Nations Global Compact and the PRME principles. These commitments reinforce the credibility and consistency of its actions.

But ICN goes even further. As well as promoting equality in the workplace and the inclusion of people with disabilities, the school is implementing an ambitious policy in support of LGBTQIA+ identities. In this way, it ensures that everyone enjoys a respectful, inclusive and supportive working and learning environment.

ICN Business School takes concrete action to prevent discrimination and violence. Its entire staff has been trained in combating gender-based and sexual violence.

At the same time, the school has put in place a clear procedure. This enables the reporting of any inappropriate behaviour, the support of those affected, and the sanctioning of perpetrators.

For ICN, equality, diversity and inclusion go far beyond legal obligations. The school regards them as key drivers of individual well-being, collective cohesion and overall performance.

These values are embodied every day in the life of the ICN community, at every level of the institution.

Testimonials

Before the admissions process, I received a call to discuss my requirements for the exams. As I have a learning disability, my requirements included enlarged exam papers, extra time in a dedicated room, and the use of my own software. As agreed, these arrangements were put in place for the exams.

Since joining ICN, with the help of Madeleine OSTROWSKI, I have also been issued with a card detailing my requirements. Furthermore, the lecturers are very attentive to my feedback and are always willing to work together to improve the
adapted learning experience.

When I arrived at ICN, two adjustments were put in place to facilitate my access and integration. Due to my hearing impairment, I quickly feel more tired than most people. ICN therefore decided to exempt me from lectures, which are too stimulating for me. I am therefore given the course materials in advance and can study them at my own pace. The other adjustment is a testament to ICN’s open-mindedness. Indeed, I am accompanied by my assistance dog. His integration at ICN has been facilitated by the administration, the teaching staff and even the students.

I joined the school with complete confidence, having discovered at the open day that the school was prepared to support me with my learning difficulties. Since I arrived, I have been fortunate enough to benefit from adjustments that have ensured my academic success. Thanks to PEP’S and a comprehensive interview with Madeleine Ostrowski, I obtained my card detailing my special arrangements, thereby making my exam conditions easier.
