What is Research for Business?

At ICN Business School, we believe that research excellence combines high-quality knowledge with practical relevance. Our researchers work with companies, non-profit organisations, and other partners to generate real and lasting impact in areas critical to management practice.

Our partners benefit from the school’s transdisciplinary #ATM approach to real-world business challenges, developed by our researchers to foster creative thinking and innovative problem-solving. The result is research whose impact extends far beyond the academic community.

We established the ICN Corporate Lab to deliver innovative solutions to businesses and industry. Activities include applied research across ICN faculty expertise, training and development programmes, and action research initiatives.

While covering a broad spectrum of topics, the lab has particular expertise in two key areas: corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability, as well as innovation and digital transformation of organisations.

Centre for Digital Transformation and Entrepreneurship

With support from the Région Grand Est, ICN Business School created the Centre for Digital Transformation and Entrepreneurship to advance research with and for businesses.

This centre takes a holistic and responsible approach to entrepreneurship, also emphasising intrapreneurship. It focuses on building internal capacities for start-ups or small existing organisations in the region.

Digital transformation is a global trend with revolutionary effects on markets. Entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial skills, creativity, and innovation capacity are being redefined by this trend and must be continually developed to enable businesses and entrepreneurs to succeed long-term in the digital age.

At the same time, entrepreneurial innovation drives employment and economic growth. Promoting innovation capacity and strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem are therefore increasingly priorities for policymakers.

Our initiative sits at the heart of this reflection. Our mission is to support and promote digital transformation in the Grand Est region through responsible and creative entrepreneurship, leveraging models and methods of creativity and innovation that account for disruptive technologies.
