Professional Coach: Choose the Right Modules for Your Career

Gain Your Certification by Completing Individual Competency Modules

The Coach Professionnel qualification is officially registered with the French National Directory of Professional Certifications (RNCP). Through its partnership with the Centre International du Coach, ICN Business School is authorised to award this recognised certification to participants. The certification can be obtained through one of the following pathways:

• A complete training programme
• A personalised learning pathway enabling the progressive validation of the four competency modules that make up the Professional Coach qualification
• Recognition of Prior Learning and Experience (VAE – Validation des Acquis de l’Expérience)

Competency modules provide a flexible and progressive route to certification. The qualification can be achieved through a full training programme, a Recognition of Prior Learning and Experience (VAE) process, or a combination of both pathways. This modular approach enables participants to build their certification progressively, supporting personalised learning journeys that reflect their individual experience, professional goals and development needs.

Why Choose the Professional Coach Competency Modules?

To obtain the RNCP Professional Coach qualification, participants must successfully complete all four competency modules, each of which is assessed and validated independently. The full qualification is awarded once all four modules have been successfully completed. A competency module is validated only when all the skills and learning outcomes associated with that module have been successfully assessed and achieved.

Furthermore, the Professional Coach qualification, registered at Level 6 of the French National Directory of Professional Certifications RNCP 38005, is structured around four competency modules.

Module 1 – Conducting Discovery Sessions, Analysing Client Needs and Designing Individual or Team Coaching Programmes

• Welcome clients, explore their needs and analyse their challenges through a structured discovery process.
• Design and formalise an individual or team coaching proposal through a coaching agreement that clearly defines the roles, responsibilities and commitments of all parties involved.

Module 3 – Designing and Delivering Tailor-Made Training to Complement Individual or Team Coaching

• Design and implement an effective coaching strategy.
• Deliver individual and team coaching programmes.
• Successfully conclude the coaching process and evaluate outcomes.

Module 4 – Creating, Managing and Growing a Professional Coaching Practice

Alongside the core coaching activities, Professional Coaches enhance their coaching practice by:

• Élaborer des modalités et des contenus pédagogiques sur mesure ;
• Animer une action de formation individuelle et/ou collective ;
• Réaliser le bilan des apprentissages et des progrès du client en lien avec ses objectifs

Module 4 – Creating, Managing and Developing a Professional Coaching Business

Professional Coaches mainly work as independent practitioners (78% of coaching professionals). They therefore need to be able to create, manage and develop their business to ensure its long-term sustainability, growth and profitability. To achieve this, they carry out two complementary activities alongside their coaching assignments:

• Creating, managing and leading their business within an existing organisation or as a newly established practice.
• Consolidating and sustaining both their professional activity and their expertise in order to support the ongoing development of their client portfolio.
