ICN’s Programme Grande École is built on an innovative pedagogy called #ATM, combining academic rigour, professional development and multidisciplinary openness.

International pathway and academic partners

The international dimension is a cornerstone of ICN’s PGE. Students may:

Spend one or more semesters abroad, Follow courses in English, Obtain a grande école double degree with a partner university.

Double degrees

At ICN Business School, you will have the opportunity to obtain a double degree (unless you choose to spend your final year at a partner university). Five options are available:

ICN degree + Master’s from the University of Lorraine – Faculty of Law Accessible only after validation of the DU Passerelle vers le droit de l’entreprise (to be completed during the work experience year).

ICN degree + Engineering Grande École degree

• CIVIL ENGINEERING DEGREE (MINES Nancy) – 2 YEARS, AFTER ICN YEAR 2

A high-level generalist engineering programme with a specialisation in computer science.

• ENGINEER/MANAGER DEGREE (ENSGSI Nancy) – 2 YEARS, AFTER ICN YEAR 2

A programme offering a dual Engineer/Manager qualification, centred on innovation management within companies and grounded in a strong scientific, managerial and human dimension.

• MASTER’S IN DESIGN – INNOVATION AND GLOBAL DESIGN (ENSGSI Nancy) – 1 YEAR, AFTER ICN YEAR 2

This pathway aims to train executives in innovation engineering, with a focus on product, organisational and service design, from concept generation through to prototype development.

ICN degree + CentraleSupélec

Over 12 months following ICN Year 2, during your final year of the PGE, you have the option of completing an MSc in Technology and Management at CentraleSupélec Paris-Saclay. This comprises 8 months of academic study and a 4-month company assignment followed by a professional dissertation in English.

ICN degree + International Master’s

International double degrees take place over one year in lieu of the third year of the programme.

Triple degree: ICN degree + MSc – Master of Science in Management by Innovation + DESSMI

Over 1 year, after ICN Year 2: 2 semesters of coursework + a minimum of 5 months of professional experience.

Work-study within the Programme Grande École

ICN’s Programme Grande École is available as a work-study programme, allowing students to combine academic study with professional experience. The apprenticeship pathway, available from Year 2 onwards, is a powerful driver of employability.

The curriculum incorporates several compulsory internships and numerous pedagogical projects in partnership with the school’s corporate partners. In keeping with the #ATM pedagogy, we aim to make these experiences a genuine facilitator of professional integration after the PGE diploma.

Internships may be completed in France or abroad, reinforcing the international dimension of the Programme Grande École. It is also the ideal choice for students who wish to work in a multicultural or international environment after graduating.

Key Modules and Competencies

Year 1: Be Engaged

The first year is essential for acquiring the fundamentals of management, business administration and finance. It also introduces students to the #ATM pedagogy. Learning by doing is central to this year, through associative, entrepreneurial or personal projects, and a year-end internship.

Between the first and second year, you also have the option of taking a gap year, whether through an academic exchange in France or abroad, a professional experience or an ICN certificate.

Year 2: Be Curious

At the start of the second year, whether on a full-time or work-study basis, in Nancy, Paris or Berlin, you will give your programme its first direction by choosing a field:

• MARKETING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Marketing – Organisation Management – Branding
• ORGANISATION MANAGEMENT & STRATEGY: Human Resources – Innovation and Sustainability

You may choose only one field from the three broad families above.

Year 3: Be Creactive

At the start of the third year, whether on a full-time or work-study basis, in Nancy, Paris or Berlin, you will deepen your knowledge by choosing a specialisation from the three broad families:

Post-prépa admissions (entrance examinations)

The Programme Grande École is accessible after a classe préparatoire through the BCE and entrance examinations. This traditional pathway allows students from prépa to join a recognised post-prépa business school.

Parallel admissions at Bac+2 / Bac+3 / AST

ICN’s PGE is also accessible through parallel admissions at Bac+2 or Bac+3 level (AST). The AST 1 and AST 2 examinations are open to students holding a higher education qualification validating at least Bac+2 (120 ECTS credits) for AST 1, or at least Bac+3 (180 ECTS credits) for AST 2.

This pathway is therefore open to holders of:

• A licence
• A Bachelor degree
• A BUT
• An equivalent Bac+3 qualification

Requirements, application file and timeline

Admission requirements for the Programme Grande École vary according to the entry pathway but are based on:

• Academic level, demonstrated through an application file,
• A motivation and language interview,
• Professional project.

The calendars for examination preparation days and entrance examinations are published each year by the school.

Programme Costs and Funding Options

The Programme Grande École is a fee-paying programme. Discover the cost per year:

• Year 1 – €14,800
• Year 2 – €14,500
• Year 3 – €14,500

For students on the apprenticeship pathway, available from Year 2 onwards, tuition fees are covered by your host company.

You also have the option of temporarily suspending your studies to pursue personal or entrepreneurial projects:

• Gap year – €1,000
• Extension – €1,500

Funding options

ICN Business School understands that the costs associated with studying can be a barrier for many students. We have therefore put in place a range of solutions, including scholarships, to help you bring your academic project to life.

Scholarships

Each year, ICN awards approximately 20 scholarships through its social affairs committee and endowment fund. How to apply? Following a review of your financial situation and academic file, you will be required to sign a commitment agreement.

Bank loans and flexible payment options

ICN has partnerships with four banking institutions — LCL Grand Est, Banque Populaire Grand Est, Caisse d’Épargne Grand Est, La Banque Postale Grand Est et Île-de-France, and BNP Paribas at La Défense — enabling you to obtain loans with no guarantor required.

We also offer interest-free instalment payment plans (in 3 or 5 instalments) to help you spread the cost of your tuition fees.

State financial aid

The French government offers a state-guaranteed student loan to support your studies. The cost of your tuition may also be deducted from your own tax return or that of your parents.

Funding through your host company via work-study

Your host company covers your tuition fees and pays you a salary — the best of both worlds! The apprenticeship pathway is available from Year 2 of the PGE at ICN.

Student housing assistance

ICN is a partner of four specialist student housing platforms. What does this mean in practice? As an ICN student, you benefit from rental discounts and additional services.

Return on investment

The return on investment of the PGE at ICN is generally high, given the salary levels and career progression observed after graduation. Based on our figures below, within just one year of professional activity, you will have recouped the cost of your three years of study. Exact figures vary by cohort and sector.

The sectors most favoured by our students include: Industry (luxury, automotive, pharmaceutical), financial services (insurance, audit, accountancy), sales and marketing, and legal services.

For example, the Class of 2023 of the Programme Grande École at ICN earned an average gross annual salary of €43,421, according to our post-graduation survey.

Furthermore, our graduates who have chosen an international career earn on average 10 to 14% more than those working in France.
