Biography
Erik Ernesto Vazquez joined ICN Business School as an Associate Professor and Chair of the Marketing Department in 2025. Prior to this role, Erik worked in higher education as a Research Professor, Full Professor, Director of International Graduate Studies, and Director of MBA and Undergraduate Programs for prominent business schools with international accreditations.
Professor Vazquez has also held positions in the private sector, including National Director, Territory Director, Marketing Director, and Consultant. Erik holds a PhD jointly awarded by Newcastle upon Tyne University, UK (ranked 8th in the Shanghai World University Ranking for Business Administration in 2023) and Grenoble École de Management, France. He also holds a dual degree, a Global MBA from the University of North Carolina – Belk College of Business (ranked 1st among public universities in North Carolina) and EGADE Business School, Tec de Monterrey (regularly ranked among the top 100 business schools worldwide by the Financial Times), as well as an engineering degree from the University of Monterrey.
His publications, either as a sole author or first author, primarily focus on marketing and digital economy, and have been featured in journals such as Recherche et Applications en Marketing (ranked FNEGE 2, equivalent to three stars ICN ★ ★ ★, recognized as the leading French marketing journal by the French Marketing Association – AFM) and Electronic Markets (ranked FNEGE 3, or ★ ★, recognized as the leading German journal in Economics and Econometrics by Scimago). He has also co-authored works in diverse fields such as legislative studies and communication, as well as professional publications, including MIT Sloan Management Review (Mexico) and Harvard Business Review (France). Utilizing a broad range of methodologies, from action research and qualitative surveys to big data analysis and experimental design, his research and consulting activities focus on marketing, digital innovation, economics, policies, knowledge, and education.
