Biographie
Dr. Isotilia Costa Melo est titulaire d’un doctorat en Operations and Process Management (2021) ainsi que d’un MBA en Digital Business avec spécialisation en Artificial Intelligence (2023), obtenus à l’University of São Paulo (USP), Brésil. Dans le cadre de son doctorat, elle a effectué un séjour de recherche en qualité de chercheuse invitée à l’University of Sherbrooke (Québec, Canada) et a participé à un programme académique international (DAAD Winter Course) à Aachen et Berlin, en Allemagne.
Sa thèse doctorale porte sur la mesure de la performance des chaînes logistiques numériques à travers le développement de modèles dynamiques de Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). Ces travaux s’inscrivent dans une perspective méthodologique visant à renforcer les outils quantitatifs d’évaluation des systèmes organisationnels complexes et technologiquement intensifs.
Avant son intégration à ICN Business School, Dr. Costa Melo a exercé les fonctions d’Assistant Professor à l’Universidad Católica del Norte (Chili) et, antérieurement, de Postdoctoral Researcher à l’Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (Chili). Elle a également assuré l’encadrement de mémoires et de projets de fin d’études de MBA à l’University of São Paulo (Brésil) et au Polytechnic of Porto (ISEP, Portugal), totalisant plus de 60 projets exécutifs supervisés, majoritairement consacrés aux applications de l’intelligence artificielle en contexte organisationnel. Elle co-encadre actuellement deux doctorantes de la Sichuan Agricultural University, Chine.
Ses travaux ont donné lieu à plus de 40 publications dans des revues à comité de lecture. Elle a notamment publié dans des revues internationales classées dans la catégorie ABS, telles qu’Omega et Environmental Science & Policy. Elle exerce actuellement les fonctions d’Associate Editor pour la revue Business and Society Review (Wiley).
Sur le plan scientifique, ses recherches se structurent autour de deux axes complémentaires.
Le premier concerne le développement et l’application de méthodes quantitatives avancées, paramétriques et non paramétriques, dédiées à la mesure de la performance, en particulier la Data Envelopment Analysis et les modèles d’efficience associés.
Le second porte sur l’intégration de dispositifs de recherche en méthodes mixtes, articulant approches quantitatives et qualitatives, avec une attention croissante aux apports de l’intelligence artificielle aux sciences de gestion.
Ses terrains d’application couvrent principalement la logistique et le supply chain management, la transformation digitale et les enjeux de durabilité. Ses travaux s’étendent également aux domaines des énergies renouvelables, des petites et moyennes entreprises (PME), des marchés financiers et des pratiques de greenwashing, traduisant un programme de recherche cohérent, interdisciplinaire et orienté vers l’impact scientifique et sociétal.
