ICN is committed to research excellence. Our researchers advance the state of knowledge , they develop innovative answers to real life management problems together with the business sector and work on solutions for a more sustainable society. Our students also benefit from this – they are taught by experts in their field and have the chance to engage with recent findings.
The impact and quality of research is usually measured by the quality of the academic journals in which the research results are published. The research results undergo an independent review by other experts and, if approved, are then made available to the scientific community. Academic journals are often divided into four categories, with the quality and reputation of the journals expressed by stars, from one to a maximum of 4.
ICN researchers have massively increased not only the quantity of their publications but especially their quality in recent years. According to the essential CNRS quality ranking, the 70 ICN professors have produced 90 CNRS stars in 2020, the same number as in 2019. This represents an 80% increase over 2018 and is the visible sign of the school’s academic excellence, which is also reflected in the positive trend in the most important national rankings (L’Étudiant).
